Lita Rossana Ford also known as Lita Ford as she is popularly known, was an American-born British singer and guitarist who led the women-only hard rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The group wasn't successful in The United States, it gained huge popularity abroad. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career after the disbandment of her group in 1979. After receiving voice classes, Ford launched her first solo album "Out for Blood" followed by "Dancin at the Edge". The two albums didn't get much attention and Ford was largely absent from the world of rock for a few years. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' was released in 1989. Both the song "Kiss Me Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes forever" became huge hit songs. However, her popularity was not long-lasting and she vanished in the world of music for many years. Her re-emergence was with the releases of "Black" in 1995 and "Wicked Wonderland" nearly 15 years following. The album she released most recently "Time Capsule," launched in 2016. Her name was given The Certified Guitar Legend Award by the Guitar Player Magazine.
